Intern Placement Observations, Week 1

 Observations this week:

Professor begins class by allowing students to introduce selves around the room, goes over expectations of the course and how many projects will be completed. Afterwards, 2 screenings are conducted of 2 artists: Do Ho Suh and Chiharu Shiota. Students write down their thoughts on both artists while watching the videos, including interesting quotes and concepts shared between artists. Afterwards, a group discussion takes place on the artists’ works. Homework was assigned afterwards, to collect 15 small objects with a memory or feeling associated with the students (ranging from objects outside or inside home, from local environment, etc.) for next class period.
